What a start to the season, twenty two young drivers desended on the three sisters race track in Wigan to resume where they had left of last December.
Notable names missing from the entry list where both last years winners, Ashley who has moved on to the btrda forest series and Cameron who choose to miss the first round on the first nine scores count ruling.
The pace was frantic and very little split several off the top seeded crews being Alex, Chris I, Ben, Arron and Nick, the pressure was on and mistakes started to appear but it still remained very close right up to the final stage.
Provisional results were listed as
1st Alex.
2nd Nick.
3rd Chris I.
However at post event scrutineering Nicks car was found to have a mod which was not eligable for the series, and he was excluded. Such a bitter twist as all thought it an oversight as the car had originaly been used by a senior driver where the mod had been authorised maybe, but Nick took the punishment like a pro and i'm sure he'll be back.
Several newcomers preformed with great speed and maturity none lass than Niall Mallony and David Humpston.
The only down side of the day was poor Amar who's car had been driven from Luton for him to compete only to find it would not start after arriving at the circuit, and he had to spend the day as a spectator.
Round 2 moves across east to Sculthorpe for a two day event on the 10th and 11th of April.
