| Due to a the junior rally becoming more and more popular and the most common question being asked following the day is “what do we do next?” Rallyschool.co.uk is now offering pupils the opportunity to join our Junior Rally Academy.
The MSA have visited the school with the view to relaxing the age of drivers able to compete on single venue stage rallies in 2007. This would mean drivers as young as fourteen would be able to compete in actual rallies throughout the UK.
There would be a championship using 1000cc cars, this is likely to run along side the existing Formula 1000 series which has run now for two years and gives young drivers the chance to compete at an affordable price.
With this in mind the all new Junior Rally Academy will now run throughout 2006. Drivers will be assessed, following which they will receive an academy passport which will have six levels of discipline and abilities to be attained throughout the year. Each day will be tailored around drivers of similar ability to ensure a smooth progression.
Quick Guide
Q. How many sessions would it take?
A. We estimate approx 15 to 20 sessions for a junior with zero experience as it may take more than one session to obtain each level.
Q. How often will sessions be held?
A. Two per week.
Q. How often will I need to visit the school?
A. We would recommend once every five to six weeks to remain focused.
Q. What will I drive?
A. All levels will be in Nissan Micra’s with the exception of level six which will be in a wide variety of cars.
Q. Where will they be held?
A. All three of our existing schools in Shropshire, Worcestershire and Buckinghamshire.
Q. How much will each session cost?
A. Unfortunately each level will be more expensive, as the cost will obviously increase as the competitive element of each driver comes through. Level 1 £99, Level 2 £125, Level 3 £150, Level 4 £175, Level 5 £200, Level 6 £250
Q. How do I get started?
A. By attending a Junior rally course. On completing this course you will be given a score, this score then determines which level you enter the Academy at.
At the end of October we will also be running a mock practice rally for pupils so they can experience the adrenalin of a real rally, control boards, clocks, stages etc first hand. Pupils then will be offered the opportunity to be part of the schools own rally team on a major national or international rally. Also the offer of hiring Rallyschool.co.uk cars for 2007 along with continued support from the school.
The dates and times will be released by email and listed on our website soon.
